The lover’s holiday has its beginnings in the 4th century B.C. in Rome. The Romans held an annual lottery wherein young men would draw a young woman’s name from a box. The couple would be assigned to each other the entire year for entertainment and pleasure. This celebration, traditionally held on February 15, also included banquets, dancing and foot races run in the nude.
St. Valentine was chosen as the patron saint of the new event, and young Roman men resorted to courting females by sending handwritten notes delivered on February 14.
Join Rozz this Valentine’s, as he serenades you with classic love tunes, from as far back as from the 1930s to our present day romantic melodies.
A studied vocal performer, ROZZ will be performing this Valentine’s with The Frequency, hs band from Penang. Rozz who has a commanding presence, has been a regular guest performer of No Black Tie’s for the past year.
The major influences on his singing comprise of an eclectic mix: from the likes of Barbra Streisand, Joan Sutherland and Freddie Mercury to Grace Jones and Diamanda Galas.
Upon completion of high school in Penang, ROZZ furthered his education in Theatre Studies and International Relations in the United States, after which he eventually arrived at the epicentre of the actor’s domain in New York City where he was featured in on and off-Broadway productions.
Come with your vocal chords well lubricated and ready, boys and girls, because this promises to be a night filled with sing-a-longs!!!
For this particular night, NBT has prepared a special Valentine’s set dinner menu consisting of assorted sashimi, foie gras with winter melon, teppanyaki king prawn with parmesan cheese sauce or pan fried sliced tenderloin beef with ginger sauce and unagi kamameshi.
