Rani Singam is one of Asia’s most sought-after vocalists today. She is named in “The Jazz Singers, The Ultimate Guide”, a 2008 Hal Leonard publication which serves as an encyclopedic guide on the important singers in jazz. Rani sings in a style which is truly reminiscent of the great jazz singers she admires.

Chok Kerong

Kerong Chok has been noted for his versatility – he has collaborated with indie rock bands, pop acts and R&B outfits since he became involved in the Singaporean music scene. Underpinning his fluency in these different styles, however, is a passion for the mystery that is jazz improvisation. As an improviser, he continually strives to find new forms of personal expression within the legacy left behind by the greats. Kerong has performed as a jazz pianist and organist at events/venues such as the Esplanade Mosaic Music Festival, the Chijmes Jazz Festival and local jazz club Jazz@Southbridge. He has performed with such jazz artists as Eugene Pao and Eli Degibri. A law graduate from the National University of Singapore, Kerong was awarded the Singapore National Arts Council Arts Scholarship (Overseas) in 2008 to pursue a Master’s degree in Jazz at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studies with Phil Markowitz

Elvira Arul is a lady with a voice like no other, with the lethally good combination of power, soul, passion, pizazz and personality. Having worked with local and international artistes over the years – to name a few Sheila Majid, Misha Omar, Reshmonu, Jaclyn Victor and VE while on the international front Kenny B, Rachel White, and Phil Perry has given her the taste and thirst of the stage. She has definitely come into her own as a vocalist. This time around she will be performing “songs of love for yourself.” Good way to kick start the week.

A true artist with a passion for music, Dasha Logan jams to her favorite genres of Jazz, Funk, Soul and RnB. It’s a rare moment to catch her without a tune or more so, a smile on her face.

The very talented budding pianist John Dip Silas lands another night at No Black Tie. His trio will bring a fresh take on jazz. Having performed with several jazz veterans in the Malaysian jazz circuit, this aspiring young wonder will show you what he has up his sleeves and spread it across the grand piano
